The 2017 Bugatti Chiron

The much anticipated successor to the Bugatti Veyron is here, the 2017 Bugatti Chiron. For the Chiron to be even faster than the Veyron, Bugatti tweaked the W16 engine into producing an astonishing 1500 HP. Bugatti even added 4 turbochargers to the 16 cylinder engine so that it can achieve speeds north of 260 MPH making it the fastest production car ever made. The state of the art engine is coupled to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic with manual shifting mode. The Chiron was meticulously designed to be perfectly aerodynamic so it can accomplish staggering speeds. Bugatti has a long history of making beautiful products such as the mid-20th century Type 57 and its line of motorcycles, which is predictable because Bugatti is French after all. The Chiron’s design had to be functional (for aerodynamics), but I think it is still one of the most beautiful modern production cars on the market. The super cars hardware costs around $2.5 million, which will help make it a extremely exclusive vehicle. So if you have very deep pockets, a desire to be literally the fastest, and have one of the best looking cars on the road the 2017 Bugatti Chiron is for you.

President Trump’s Inaugural speech

Now that the long and arduous 2016 Election cycle is over we are left with a Republican dominated government. Leading the GOP now is President Donald J. Trump, who is perhaps the most controversial newly elected president I recent history. HIs Inauguration was contentious from the start with violent and peace protests breaking out in Washington D.C. and other cities throughout the country. The protests are continuing with the huge Women marches sweeping the country. In his Inauguration speech President Trump did little to calm the fears of the nation according to CNN’s Jake Trapper who says “this is one of the most radical inaugural speeches we’ve ever heard” (Trapper). CNN is a national news outlet that is one of the big three cable news networks of which also includes FOX and MSNBC. Trapper also said “attacked Washington while standing inside the center of Washington, D.C., surrounded by Washington insiders” (Trapper). So CNN sees Trumps speech as a continuation of his campaign, in so far as it is brash unrefined and controversial.  Fox News is seen as a more conservative cable news than CNN. Judson Berger of Fox News says “The speech did not delve into policy details, and rather reprised objectives from his 2016 campaign on trade, immigration and national security” (Berger). So here we see both news outlets agreeing that Trump remains controversial and that he still is not politically correct. So even ideologically distinct news outlets FOX and CNN can agree on something as big as a new Presidents inaugural speech.

The 2017 Ford GT Supercar

Image result for 2017 ford gt supercar

The Ford GT Supercar, also known as the “Ferrari Killer” is back in the new 2017 generation. The beautiful new model is mid-engine and RWD like the first generation that went into production in 2004. The 2017 GT does not come in a manual shift only a 7- speed automatic. This car is special because it has one of the best pedigrees in racing history. The original Ford GT 40 stunned the racing world in the 60s as it beat Ferrari in the 1966 24 hours of Le Mans, which is where it earned its previously mentioned nickname. Then the GT was reimagined in the mid 2000s and those models will likely become the “it” car for future car collectors. The new models engine is a 3.5L liter twin-turbo-charged V6 eco-boost which is projected to produce 600 horsepower. If the GT can actually produce that much power it would be the most powerful eco-boost engine in history. So the new GT at first glance seems to be a worthy successor to the mid- 2000s models, but it is to soon to tell if it can live up to the great “Ferrari Killer” of the 60s. Only time will tell.
